I am kind of amazed that the UI options are more limited than Photoshop (we’re talking about the big CC and CS guys!) and it doesn’t look like it will be much better in the near future. I wish Lightroom would do the same for TWAIN as Photoshop does for cameras. I like the idea of working with images as TIFFs, JPGs, and Raw files (with the option to do post-processing work in raw). I like the idea of being able to choose what version of TIFF gets what bit depth. I also wish there were more options for the RAW images (noise, exposure, etc.), and more control over the tone curve. That alone would be a huge improvement. As it is, it’s a really neat app, but it’s so limited, and it really shouldn’t have gotten the big success that it has by creating such a huge limitation. I can’t believe they are targeting the casual photographers at this point with the way it is presented…
Great review but until this version the Adobe version closely matches Lightroom version. More growth potential ahead for Lightroom who has the UI built and ready. Also I hope for an updated steep price tag this fall.

I upgraded to it just recently, and although I was thrilled to have my files and catalog integrated with Lightroom, it was a complete disaster. I found that I could not view my RAW TIFFs. Rather than being able to open my RAW files in the app, I was only allowed to view them as “smart previews” which either showed a logo, a small snippet of the image, or an unreadable (grayscale) preview that was barely discernible. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, creating a new library and going through and importing my photos, but to no avail. The only way to open RAW files was through the copy function, but this is not really the best way to work. The second issue I ran into is that the program freezes when I open the catalog. I would be unable to do anything but close the program. I contacted support and they only sent me a forum link that never went anywhere. I am thinking of returning the app and looking for a different RAW editing application.
